What’s more exciting than the summer holidays? Going along to a free summertime Let’s Cook course!

After the popularity of our courses at Easter, we’re delighted to announce that our summer pop-up courses will be taking place across the country throughout the summer holidays.

Booking is really easy with our online form, and courses are available to all children between the ages of 5 and 11.

We’ve been catching up with Shaida Hussain, whose children Safah, 8, and Ibrahim, 5, attended Let’s Cook courses at the Beckton pop-up during the Easter holidays.

Eat Happy (EH): Hi, Shaida! It’s lovely to speak to you again. Do you think both your children learned something from the course? Ibrahim especially is very young.

Shaida: They both learned so much in the three days, which were packed with a variety of techniques – cutting, chopping and grating safely, filling pastry and learning about herbs.

EH: Since the course, have they continued to cook at home? Do they help out in the kitchen?

Shaida: The course taught them how to cut and chop using safe techniques, and now both my children always want to help me cut onions, fruit and vegetables.

EH: We noticed quite a competitive element to the washing up while we were there! Do they still help clean up at home?

Shaida: They love washing up and actually fight over who is going to do it. One less job for me!

EH: And have they continued to learn new recipes?

Shaida: Yes, both are cooking whenever they can. Some of the dishes they have cooked since are cookies, pizza, bread, pasta and flapjacks.

EH: Did you find the course easy to book?

Shaida: Yes, the course was easily booked online. I received a text confirmation and email.

EH: Finally, would you recommend signing up to a Let’s Cook course to other parents?

Shaida: Most definitely! It was practical, enjoyable and most of all an eye-opener for me, as I never thought they would be able to do as much as they can.

If you’d like your children to learn how to cook safely and healthily, sign up today – you never know, they might even start doing the washing up.
