This week we’ve been scrambling, poaching and frying our eggs in celebration of #BritishEggWeek.

Eggs are a versatile and delicious food that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Why not put your egg-cracking skills to the test with this yummy oven-baked frittata, a tasty alternative to the humble omelette.

If that wasn’t enough we also have lots of egg-cellent resources to help you teach a lesson. Take your class on a virtual adventure to meet chicken farmer Jean-Paul at The Happy Egg Company, and learn why eggs are good for us as well as learning about the mysterious ‘double-yolker’.

In addition, we have lots of teaching materials to support children’s learning – help them understand the concept of a dozen with this fun maths quiz or take a look at the many different sizes of egg with this illustrated matching activity. Explore all our Excellent Eggs resources on our Pinterest board Farm to Fork Trail to a Happy Egg Company farm. Here the children will meet farmers, get up close to the hens and learn about their lifecycle. We will even subsidise your travel costs up to £70.

And last but not least, if you’d prefer to stay in your classroom, The Happy Egg Company can deliver un-hatched eggs to your school, giving pupils an understanding of the lifecycle of a chick by allowing them to care for and nurture another living creature. Click here to see if they can be delivered to your area.

So what are you waiting for? Let’s get cracking!
