The Tesco Eat Happy Project journey started in 2014, and we’re delighted to announce that we’ve passed the massive milestone of giving one million children an Eat Happy experience.

School children aged 4-11 have visited suppliers at their farms or factories and gone on in-store Farm to Fork trails at 787 stores UK-wide, exploring fresh fruit and vegetables, tasting cheeses, seeing how bread is baked and learning about the different species and origins of fish.

More than 18,000 children have been transported from the comfort of their classrooms to locations around the world using Google+ Hangouts on one of our Online Field Trips. They’ve been able to talk to worldwide suppliers, from banana growers in Costa Rica to pasta makers in Naples.

Over 7,000 children have attended a free Let’s Cook course, where the Children’s Food Trust has taught them recipes that they’ll be able to carry through life. We also have loads of recipes and video cookalongs online, so all children can master kitchen skills.

And Cub Scouts and Beaver Scouts have between them earned over 18,000 special Farm to Fork badges by going along on a trail to learn more about where their food comes from.

We’re really proud to have had a positive effect on so many children’s relationship with food, and our goal is to bring an Eat Happy experience to thousands more children in the next year.

Will you help us? Sign up today and together let’s bring some Eat Happy magic into classrooms, kitchens and youth centres around the country.
