Many people enjoy yoghurt as a light snack, and this fun recipe is a great way to give 4-5 year olds some inspiration on how to spruce it up. They’ll learn how to measure the ingredients and show of their creative skills with arranging the dessert in the tumblers. 

This toolkit contains a recipe, along with ideas about how you could include it in your lesson. Take a look at the recipe below and refer to it alongside the teaching resources.

Stripy berry dessert

Equipment

  • Spoon

  • Glass tumblers

Method

  • Step 1

    Place 10 raspberries into a glass and spoon over half of the black cherry yoghurt.

  • Step 2

    Next, layer half of the blueberries on top.

  • Step 3

    Spoon over half of the apricot yoghurt.

  • Step 4

    Arrange 3 blackberries on the top.

  • Step 5

    Repeat this for the second dessert.

Top tip(s)

Use different fruit – experiment with canned, dried, frozen or fresh.
