Perfect potato salad

Potatoes are grown all over the world and are a staple part of our diet. Common ways of preparing them are through baking, mashing or roasting. In this recipe, 5-6-year-olds will use pre-cooked new potatoes and have adult support when cutting them in half using the bridge hold. With the lesson plans, they will learn about the creative ways potatoes can be made into other foods – in particular crisps, which they will love!

This toolkit contains a recipe, along with ideas about how you could include it in your lesson. Take a look at the recipe below and refer to it alongside the teaching resources.

The cooking skills and recipes have been developed in collaboration with the British Nutritional Foundation.
