On Sunday 7 June more than 1,000 farmers across the UK will open their gates and welcome families to experience where the food they eat comes from.

Open Farm Sunday, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is the farming industry’s biggest community event. British farmers grow nearly a quarter of all the fruit and vegetables consumed in the UK and Open Farm Sunday is the chance for children and parents alike to discover first hand what their work entails.

Each event is unique with free activities based around the farm’s individual story. From sheep shearing to tractor rides, live milking to nature trails, it’s a great day out for the whole family.

At some events, there may also be mini farmers’ markets or picnics to try the beautiful, fresh produce.

In support of Open Farm Sunday, the Tesco Eat Happy Project will be running free Farm to Fork Trails at seven supplier’s farms. If one of these farms is near you, click the link to find out more about your local event:

Barleylands Farm, Essex

Wenderton Farm, Canterbury

Frogmary Green Farm, Somerset

J B Shropshire & Sons, Hainey Farm, Cambridgeshire

If you can’t make it to one of these Farm to Fork Trails, there are plenty of events happening across the UK. Visit the Open Farm Sunday website to find out what’s going on in your local area.
