Mother’s Day is coming up on 6 March, so it’s time to let Mum sit back, put her feet up and be spoiled.

To make the day special for everyone, how about getting up before Mum and heading into the kitchen with the children to help them create a healthy breakfast in bed? A bright and colourful fruit salad or perhaps fruit-topped tasty toast can get the day off to a great start.

If you want to do something at a more civilised hour, then arrange afternoon tea. Mini carrot cakes or cheesy courgette muffins (yes, courgette!) are easy to make and go perfectly with a cuppa.

Cooking with the children can be a great way to teach them about different ingredients and how to make a healthy, balanced meal. Remember to reward them with certificates and stickers for being extra nice to Mum.
