Who said making pizzas had to be difficult? These quick and simple muffin pizzas are a fun way for kids to make a child-friendly twist on an Italian classic dish. They will enjoy learning how to decorate their pizzas by tearing up the topping ingredients and arranging them in a creative way. A great recipe to be enjoyed for lunch, as a snack or at dinnertime!

Yummy muffin pizzas

Equipment

  • Knife

  • Chopping board

  • Measuring spoons

  • Kitchen scissors

  • Grater

  • Frying pan

  • Oven gloves

  • Serving plate

Method

  • Step 1

    ADULT ONLY. Cut the two muffins in half and rest them on the chopping board. These will be the pizza bases.

  • Step 2

    Add a 10ml spoon of sauce to each pizza base. Spread it evenly over each base with the table knife.

  • Step 3

    Tear the ham into small pieces and share it between the pizza bases.

  • Step 4

    Tear the basil leaves and arrange the pieces on the top.

  • Step 5

    Add some sweetcorn to each.

  • Step 6

    Tear the mozzarella into pieces and add it to the top of each pizza.

  • Step 7

    ADULT ONLY. Preheat the grill.

  • Step 8

    ADULT ONLY. Place the pizzas on the grill pan. Use oven gloves to place the pan under the grill.

  • Step 9

    Cook for a few minutes until the cheese bubbles and browns.

  • Step 10

    ADULT ONLY. Remove from the heat using the oven gloves, and serve.

4 x 10ml spoons
tomato-based sauce
2 slices
ham

handful of basil leaves
2 x 15ml spoons
sweetcorn from a tin
60g
mozzarella cheese

Top tip(s)

Try different toppings, such as sliced mushrooms, chopped cherry tomatoes, sliced courgettes or canned tuna.

Try different bread, such as slices of baguette, pitta or crumpets.

Serve with a colourful salad.
